Canada’s recent commitment of $100M towards the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI) is not only a victory in the fight to eradicate polio, it is also a testament to what our community of Global Citizens (over 600,000 strong in Canada!) can achieve.
Tens of thousands of Global Citizens, like you and me, took the time to get informed and take action.
From sending tweets to signing petitions to yelling out “End polio now” at music festivals across the country, Canadians stood together to call for a world without polio. As a result, we are one step closer to ensuring no child contracts polio, ever again.

Thank you for being part of the Global Citizen movement, for making your voice a catalyst for change. You are the reason that we are able to impact millions of lives around the world.
With this exciting commitment behind us, we’re gearing up to ensure that Canada steps up on other critical issues including education, food and hunger, and equality.
Stay tuned for more opportunities to take action for a better world.
Thank you for all you do,
Odette and the Global Citizen team
